L235223 Flat wagon, period IV, DB, Lgjs 571.1, 440 4 621-0, with 2 intermodal
In the 1960s, large containers were particularly required for overseas traffic.
For this, new carrier cars had to be built, for example the Lgjs 571.1, which served as a model for our model. In 1974, 150 of these wagons were delivered to the DB. From 1970 to 1980, almost 700 cars of this type were put into service in a total of six series.
The last ones were retired around 1997. Their long wheelbase of 10.00 m with a LüP of 17.10 m did not allow them to be used in RIV traffic.
The loading length of 14.60 m allowed loading with two 20-foot containers, one 40-foot container or even two truck swap bodies.
