76DIS007 Land Rover Discovery 4 Dublin Airport Fire Service
The Land Rover Discovery 4 has lent itself to numerous roles from private motorists to Emergency Services where it is much loved. Here we see it in a supporting Incident Command role with the Dublin Airport Authority Fire & Rescue Service, decorated in pure orange with blacked up rear side and back windows, a roof light bar and also an orange roof beacon. Graphics appear on all sides of the vehicle as well as its Rescue 2 designation. Note, too, the colourful Fire Authority crest which is printed on the black side windows. The Discovery is registered in Dublin as IO-D-24699.
The Discovery series 4 was the result of a highly detailed internal and external upgrade by Land Rover’s Chief Designer Gerry McGovern, who introduced many mechanical improvements to engines and gearboxes, which certainly made a huge difference to the emergency services end users. As well as the technical enhancements, the cosmetic additions to the interior and upgraded exterior trim rounded off a highly luxurious and technically advanced vehicle for the private motorist too.
